The Vega Ancestral House, located in Poblacion, Balingsag, Misamis Oriental, is an estimated 200-year-old structure inspired by Bahay na Bato. It features unique wooden atlases, known as “otí-ot” in Visayan, and is a popular landmark for tourists. Notable figures like Emilio Aguinaldo and Sergio Osmeña have stayed there.

In the 1800s, Ignacio Juan Vega from San Nicolas, Cebu, settled in Galas, now Balingasag, Northern Mindanao, where he introduced the Cebuano devotion to the Sto. Niño and left behind a heritage house that is a landmark in Misamis Oriental, with evidence suggesting its construction occurred in the same century.
