The Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) is the first underground railway system in the Philippines, often referred to as the “Project of the Century.” This ambitious infrastructure initiative aims to address the worsening traffic congestion plaguing the metropolis by providing a more efficient mode of transportation. The 33.1 km-long subway is currently being constructed in Metro Manila, extending from Valenzuela to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Once completed, the system will connect 17 strategically located stations and a depot, significantly enhancing the urban commuting experience. By marking it as the first mass underground transport system in the country, the MMSP is not only set to revolutionize public transportation but also aims to promote economic growth and urban development, making it a pivotal project for the future of the Philippines.
