Malaybalay City’s Mount Capistrano: Caves and Rock Climbing

Mount Capistrano is dubbed by the rock climbers as the “ROCK GARDEN”. It is located among the three barangays of Malaybalay City namely; Barangay Managok, Barangay San Martin, and Binalbagan, Simaya.
The “Rock Garden” is specifically situated at Barangay San Martin. An actual survey was conducted by the investors for the soon to rise “EXTREME SPORTS ACTIVITY” at the stone walls of the mountain last 2019. The extreme sports that is soon to be put are the Via Ferrata, Bivouacs, Canyoneering to Glass Bridge, Zigzag Zipline and many others. The target of the investors is not only for locals but could also cater and compete internationally.
At the side of Barangay Managok, numerous numbers of Caves are in the area. The most significant are the 7 huge caves found which has rooms in it. Stone chairs and tables as huge as the cathedral church and of a basketball court were believed to be the parking area of aircrafts. The Central Mindanao University who are the legitimate owner of this 2,000 plus hectares coordinated with the City Government and DENR for site development of said area for tourism purposes.
At the side of Binalbagan, Simaya as the common route direct to the peak, will be improved to the fullest and other facilities will be put up.
The site development of mount Capistrano is on operations or perhaps completed before the end of this year.
