Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork that combines traditional manual therapies with Western medical knowledge. It involves applying pressure to specific points or channels in the body using the hands, thumbs, or other body parts. This practice aims to balance or unblock the flow of energy (qi) to improve overall health, rooted in the concept of qi from traditional Chinese medicine.

Session Experience: The practitioner assesses the individual’s qi before the session and employs various techniques such as holding, stretching, tapping, pressure, kneading, and soothing using thumbs, fingers, palms, and knees. Clients remain fully clothed while lying on a futon mat or massage table.
